The Bologna Treaty, which is known as the Bologna Process in English, is a treaty that established common standards among European countries in the field of higher education. As a result of the signing of this agreement between European countries, the educational qualifications presented in the universities of each of the member countries are considered valid and valuable in other countries, and even in the fields of medical sciences, the graduates of the universities of each of these countries can work in other countries. Member countries will not need to equate their educational qualifications.

What is the bologna process?

Before referring to the provisions and member countries of this treaty, it is necessary to answer the question, what is the Bologna process? As mentioned, the Bologna Treaty, known as the Bologna Process, was signed in 1999 by the Ministers of Higher Education of 29 European countries in the city of Bologna, and more precisely at the University of Bologna, Italy. This agreement was reached after many meetings in the field of improving the quality of educational qualifications of European member countries' universities and determining common educational standards, and led to the creation of the European Higher Education Area under the Lisbon Convention.
